- Eggers co-wrote the screenplay for the film Where The Wild Things Are, that came out in 2009, and recently released a novel of the same name - adapted from the childrens' book.
- After founding a national writing and tutoring lab for kids, and developing a monthly grant for exceptional teachers in the Bay Area, Eggers won a prestigious TED Prize in 2008, to continue his advocacy work for K-12 education.
- He wrote (rumor has it WITH his younger brother and featured character in A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius: Christopher "Toph" Eggers) a children's book of grossly fun and incorrect science about the human body, Your Disgusting Head.
- Toph may or may not have been the featured "Email this Boy" in Twist Magazine in 1998, the responses to which can be found on McSweeny's Internet Tendency, a publication where Dave Eggers has contributed to and been featured in widely. The piece is called The Love Story of Our Time. Hmm.
- And here are just a couple of interesting articles and interview with Eggers that I enjoyed: http://www.m2w.net/Fun/Eggers.html, and http://www.salon.com/books/int/2009/07/16/dave_eggers/index.html
